Savannah's Story

Savannah was born June 13, 2013. She progressed normally until her 12 month check up. At this point she had stopped reaching her developmental milestones. Her pediatrician told her family not to worry and to bring her back in 3 months. At her 15 month check up her still had not met her 12 month milestones. This is when her mom and dad really knew that something wasn't right. They began pushing for answers. Savannah traveled to several specialists in Iowa with no answers. Her parents decided to move back home to Tennessee in hopes that Vanderbilt Children's Hospital would be able to provide answers. Just after her 2nd birthday she was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. She immediately began several therapies. She currently participates in 6 therapies per week. Savannah is smart little lady with lots of love to give. She is in a wheelchair, can't speak, and has trouble using her hands. She communicates with her eye gaze and love it when people talk to her. She loves Sophia the first, swimming, and spending time with her family. Stay connected and learn more about Savannah by liking Savannah's Voice on Facebook
